• Use HyperMesh’s mesh editing tools to fix the 10-20% elements that have poor quality or bad mesh pattern • Don’t delete a mesh that is 90% good. Keep it and fix the 10% that is bad • Experience is key: EXPERIMENT! Goal: get the mesh to be approximately 80-90% good quality
Verify selected elements. To verify the quality of selected elements, select MeshVerify from the main menu bar. Abaqus/CAE displays prompts in the prompt area to guide you through the procedure. Tip: You can also verify selected elements using the tool, located in the Mesh module toolbox. (For more information, see Using the Mesh module toolbox .)
Check that all the loading and boundary conditions are applied at the correct locations. Run an element quality check in HyperMesh to see if all the elements are within the acceptable criteria. Check the consistency of the element local direction. Figure 1. Model Checker Interface in HyperMesh
Ctrl plus Shift plus another "standard" key. From the menu bar, select Preferences > Keyboard Settings. The Key-Command Mappings dialog opens, and keys display with colors based on their mapping. Select the appropriate key by clicking in the keyboard menu or holding down that key on your keyboard. The selected key highlights in blue.
Use the 2D and 3D subpanels to set the element types of 2D elements (quads, trias, and so on) and 3D elements (hexas, tetras, and so on). Option. Action. update. Update existing elements to a new type. Select the elements with the elems selector first and then click update . This operation works across configurations and both subpanels.
In all cases, the meshing engine uses a minimum Jacobian element quality check value of 0.05; this can result in some nodes being moved, especially when remeshing, in order to maintain a minimum level of element quality. When this occurs a message displays in the status bar informing you of how many mid-nodes were adjusted and saved.
3D Finite Elements. Tetrahedron. Hexahedron. Pyramid. Wedge. Degenerated Elements increase the inaccuracy of the finite element representation and have a detrimental effect on convergence of Finite Element Solutions. Now a days most of the FE Simulation softwares are equipped with In-Built Quality Check Options and Quality Based Mesh Generation

Browsers supply a great deal of view-related functionality by listing the parts of a model in a tabular and/or tree-based format, and providing controls inside the table that allow you to alter the display of model parts.
